Help! TMD pain in Raleigh

Dear Dr. Hightower,

My dentist suggested I contact you about a laser that you are using for face pain. I use a bite guard at night but my jaw and face still hurt. I have talked to a neurologist who said it wasn't trigeminal neuralgia. It seems to be my jaw mostly. Do you think it could help?

Hurting in Raleigh

Dear Hurting,
The class IV laser can be very helpful with TMD pain. We are currently working with a man who has TMD pain and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). He has suffered with these problems for many years. I have been adjusting and massaging his neck and TMJ with some success, as he says "you've helped more than anyone else." But a low grade pain always persisted, sometimes getting worse with the weather.

Well, after about 5 treatments with the Litecure lser we had "knocked the edge off" and after about ten her reported that "it the best it has felt in a long time.

So, to your case, Hurting. You have obviously been dealing with this and pursuing treatment options for many years. While it is not possible to say unequivocally that the Lite cure laser will fix your facial pain, it is reasonable to expect that a course of treatment would be a prudent investment in finding out.

I suggest we work together and monitor your level of pain. We will approach the problem from multiple perspectives, via massage, adjustment, possible electric stimulation and laser therapy. You will know in short order and for a reasonable cost whether it is working for you.

As always, know that we build our reputation at Midtown on honesty and solid customer service. We practice "golden-rule" healthcare, treating you with the same professionalism and courtesy we expect when we seek help for difficult problems.

So, let me know, book through the website RaleighMidtownChiropractic.com or call us at 873-2225 and lets see if we can melt that pain in your face away with the healing power of the class IV laser.

Thanks, and I hope we can change your sign on moniker before next you write!
